We work closely with our neighbouring canine police units, providing medical, surgical and emergency services for the Police Service Dogs (PSD) of the Delta Police and Surrey RCMP here at Scottsdale Veterinary Hospital.
This relationship began when the hospital’s previous managing partner and veterinarian, Dr. Chris Armstrong, volunteered as a veterinarian for the Police and Fire Games. We were proud to take on the responsibility as one of their primary veterinary hospitals shortly thereafter.
As you can imagine, these working athletes take a significant amount of continued training and preventative health care to maintain their health. Certain “tools” such as their teeth, sense of smell, ability to track and run are crucial to their job performance. We are pleased to be able to be an important health component for these dedicated working police dogs and their handlers.
