If you see a few Delta and RCMP Police cars at Scottsdale Veterinary Hospital, not to worry as we are their official veterinarians. Scottsdale is also fortunate to be trusted with the care of several RCMP dogs in training and RCMP in service candidates (PSD).

Caber - Delta Police

The journey began for Scottsdale and Dr. Armstrong as a volunteer veterinarian at the Police and Fire Games over 15 years ago. This resulted in the introduction of myself, and our hospital as an available resource/caregiver for the Delta Police members and their dogs (working and “pet family members” alike).  Shortly thereafter, we were proud to have been selected as their primary veterinary hospital to serve and care for the PSD’s of the Delta police. We credit this trust to the skill and level of care the veterinarians and their selected team of support staff (Animal Heath Technicians, Receptions, Veterinary Office Assistants and Office Manager) strive to maintain on a daily basis.

Each and every patient and human family member who entrusts Scottsdale’s veterinarians and staff with their care is important to us. However occasionally, the PSD’s and their handlers require the immediate unscheduled services of our veterinarians, so we would like to ask for your understanding in advance if such a situation results in the delay of care for your furry family member. Not to worry if an emergency arises, which requires immediate attention for your pet; we will certainly make every effort to see them/you without delay.

As you can imagine, these working athletes (PSD) take a significant amount of continued training and preventative health care to maintain them. Certain “tools” such as their teeth, sense of smell, ability to track and run are crucial to their job performance. We are pleased to be able to be an important health component for these dedicated working police dogs and their handlers.
